Intra Spring 2023. Intra Spring is a Medway Festival, that in 2023 took place from the 17th to the 26th March. The festival had 10 days of art and creative activities across Medway. Heather Burgess, Director of Sun Pier House, reached out to me about an arts trail they wanted to have run along the old Chatham High-street as part of a competition. 6 different venues with 6 different window illustrations. To keep it on theme with the rest of the aesthetic for Intra Spring, I decided on using only white POSCA Pens. The finish was much cleaner and made the illustrations easier to spot from afar. If people were to find the illustrations they had to jot down the name of the venue they were on in one of the Intra Spring booklets. After collecting all 6 and returning to Sun Pier, participants were in with a chance to win £200 to spend at any local restaurant down the old Chatham High-street.

All organising and communication of where the illustrations would take place and when, happened directly between me and the venues I would be working in. The turn around of these window illustrations was quite tight, and for all of the venues I didn’t know where I would be illustrating until I turned up. This meant I had to be very flexible with my approach and designs. All illustrations were completely free-hand, with the largest taking 2 hours to complete.
